Founders Invited to the Capital City to Learn, Connect and Grow
(Baton Rouge, La., February 10, 2023) — Nexus Louisiana will host its 12th annual Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week (BREW) during the first week of May. The event, which coincides with National Small Business Week, will kick off on Monday, May 1, with a block party celebrating the week’s theme: “Rediscover & Reimagine.”
“It’s all about rediscovering what you’ve accomplished so far and harnessing your inner creativity and the spirit of exploration,” said NexusLA’s Director of Marketing & Engagement, Na’Tisha Natt.
BREW includes six days of events designed to educate and inspire established start-ups, aspiring founders — and every entrepreneur in-between. With BREW, NexusLA aims to provide attendees with resources and opportunities to support their passions, innovations and business growth.
Seminar topics will include ways to build a loyal following, how to leverage alternative funding options and the rise of artificial intelligence. Past speakers include Todd Graves, Sevetri Wilson and Julio Melera.
Each year, Baton Rouge Entrepreneur Week culminates in its exciting High-Stakes Pitch Competition, where rising entrepreneurs pitch their start-up in front of an audience of investors and peers. The Red Stick Angel Network, a local investor group and subsidiary of Innovation Catalyst, Inc., will award an investment prize to the start-up with the strongest pitch.
In previous years, NexusLA programming has been geared toward tech start-ups. In 2023, the organization is expanding its programming to appeal to a variety of start-ups and small businesses, starting with BREW.
“As we enter a new era under a new theme, we remain dedicated to growing and developing the Louisiana technology industry and entrepreneurial space as a whole,” said Natt. “This year, we have a great programming lineup to support entrepreneurs and small business owners in advancing in their respective fields and to help them reconnect with their aspirations and purpose.”
NexusLA encourages local founders across industries to attend BREW and connect with their peers within the Baton Rouge start-up community.
“One of the main advantages of BREW is its opportunity to connect attendees with individuals who share similar visions and are committed to helping the community grow,” affirmed Natt.
Natt urges local business community members to attend and get involved in the event. “We are looking for enthusiastic and revolutionary innovators in the local space to participate as speakers and presenters as we pursue taking risks, pushing boundaries, and inspiring creativity,” she said.
NexusLA is now accepting proposals from potential speakers for the event. Submit your proposal at celebratebrew.com by March 3, 2023.
