Top tech talent from across the state will converge in Baton Rouge to compete for a total of $100,000.
Nexus Louisiana is excited to announce that applications are now open for the inaugural Nexus Technology Cup, a groundbreaking tech competition set to take place from June 17-19, 2025, in Baton Rouge. This multi-day event will showcase innovative hardware and software projects created by students and tech enthusiasts from across Louisiana, highlighting the state’s vibrant and evolving tech ecosystem.
The inclusive format aims to bring together diverse talent and ideas, fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration. Participants can choose to compete in one of three distinct tracks: high school, college, and an open track that welcomes anyone with a passion for building cutting-edge technology.
"Our open track is specifically designed for creative minds who are pushing boundaries, regardless of their background or affiliation," said Tony Zanders, President and CEO of Nexus Louisiana. "Whether you're an independent inventor, a startup founder, or developing a side project with potential, we welcome anyone building innovative technology to be part of this transformative experience."
Applicants must submit original projects primarily developed by team members and be prepared to compete in person on June 18 (for hardware) and June 19 (for software). To be eligible, teams must submit their application and presentation by the respective deadlines, agree to the event's code of conduct and intellectual property policies, and designate a team lead.
The top five applicants in each track will be invited to compete for cash prizes totaling $100,000. The breakdown of prizes for winners in both hardware and software categories is as follows:
