FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Baton Rouge, La. — For the first time in its 33-year history, Nexus Louisiana intends to move from its longtime home at 7117 Florida Boulevard to a new headquarters at 440 on Third Street in downtown Baton Rouge, effective July 1, 2026, pending the required 30-day public notice period. The nearly 28,000-square-foot campus marks a bold step in Nexus Louisiana’s mission to support innovation across the state.
Since 1992, Nexus Louisiana has been a cornerstone for entrepreneurs, innovators, and startups across Louisiana. The relocation to downtown represents more than a change of address; it’s a strategic move into the heart of the city’s economic engine. Nexus Louisiana will occupy roughly 94 percent of the rentable space, sharing the building with Matherne’s Market and Kinesics, a local health tech company.
“Successful startup hubs have a specific set of ingredients that make them work,” said Tony Zanders, President & CEO of Nexus Louisiana. “Of all of the responses to our RFP, 440 on Third offered the perfect mix of walkability, access, and proximity to partner organizations that our founders need to reach their potential.”
Downtown Baton Rouge is thriving, and Nexus Louisiana’s relocation places the organization at the heart of that growth. By moving downtown, Nexus Louisiana will be steps away from Louisiana Economic Development, the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, and the State Capitol, proximity that strengthens its ability to connect founders with the right people, resources, and opportunities at the right time.
The move to 440 on Third also comes with a decrease in rent, allowing Nexus Louisiana to reinvest more resources directly into supporting founders and expanding innovation programs. This relocation underscores the organization’s commitment to centralizing its efforts and embedding founders in an area where business, government, and community intersect.
As part of Plan Baton Rouge III, the move reflects a broader vision to strengthen downtown as a hub of innovation and economic activity. Downtown offers unmatched energy, accessibility, and opportunities for collaboration, giving entrepreneurs direct access to industry leaders, investors, and civic partners, while also placing them within walking distance of restaurants, cultural amenities, and the decision-makers shaping Baton Rouge’s future.
More information about the move and upcoming opportunities will be shared in the months ahead as details are finalized.
